Etiology
An accelerated glomerulonephritis secondary to any of the following: Ab against basement membrane (e.g. Goodpastures), Immune complex deposition (e.g. lupus nephritis, IgA nephropathy) or ANCA+ vasculitis (e.g. granulomatosis w/polyangiitis)
Symptoms
Wt loss
Dark urine
Generalized fatigue
Edema over weeks to mos
Physical Exam Findings
Htn
Edema
Gross hematuria
Tests
W/Renal involvement: UA + RBCs, protein; Urine microscopy w/rbc casts, dysmorphic RBCs
Serum: decrease in GFR; other testing (e.g. anca, anti-gbm ab, etc) and bx can help distinguish among etiologies
