  • Upper 2/3 of esophagus

Risk Factors

  • ETOH
  • Smoking
  • Age > 50

Symptoms

  • Weight loss
  • Progressive dysphagia, which might localize to upper part of esophagus
  • Solids >> liquids
  • Foods getting stuck, sometimes w/need to regurgitate to relive obstruction

Physical Exam Findings

  • Objective weight loss
  • Sometimes findings related to metastatic disease (if advance)
