Etiology

  • Slippage of one vert anterior relative to another

Risk Factors

  • More common in adolescents/young adults

Symptoms

  • Progressive lbp
  • Pain is focal w/o radiation
  • Sx similar to OA
  • Can contribute to spinal stenosis: low back pain that radiates down legs; worse w/activity (neurogenic claudication), better w/rest or walking while leaning forward.

Physical Exam Findings

  • Pain sometimes worse on palpation over affected area
  • Peripheral pulses intact
