Etiology

  • Compression of sciatic nerve by pyriformis muscle

Symptoms

  • Pain in lateral buttocks area radiating to back of thigh

Physical Exam Findings

  • Pain exacerbated by internal rotation of hip
  • Deep palpation over pyriformis→ lateral to sacrum
